President Joe Biden announced that he was pardoning his son of any wrong-doing over the past decade and that he hoped Americans would understand. He is not the first nor the last to do so; our next and previous President will pardon himself and pardoned several of his friends and in-laws for crimes as pernicious as those of Hunter Biden. That fact doesn’t stop people from sharing their opinion on the matter. The biggest problem appears to be that Joe earlier announced that he would let the justice system prevail and not pardon his son. People accuse him of lying to that point.
The murder of the United Healthcare CEO has revealed a lot of anger toward, not the gunman, but to the victim. A social media post expressing sorrow by the United Healthcare staff resulted in 84k laughing emojis – a surprising reaction to the murder. You then understand the response by the tweets that followed: “Your request for sympathy was denied (paraphrased)”, I hope the gunman evades capture, and other posts declaring anger at the health insurer. Where did this come from?
I understand the source of the anger, but murder is an extreme result. I wonder if the election of Trump hasn’t given people tacit permission for their violent response. Hang on to your hats, folks; the next four years will be rollercoaster ride.
Donald J Trump
Much to my chagrin, he won the popular vote and the Electoral College vote. Now he is quickly making good on his promise for retribution: nominating people to positions who are loyal to the President-elect, believe that he won the 2020 election, and will do what he wishes in every department of the government. He is ignoring the constitution, tradition, and good sense. The man needs to drink some good bourbon. I recommend Oak & Eden.
The democrats are gnashing their teeth and beating their chests in anguish for losing this election. Blame is shared by everyone who had anything to do with the election: young, black men, Hispanic men, women, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris. But the fact remains, more people liked what Trump was offering than what the democrats offered; more people were unhappy with the Biden administration than whatever Trump will deliver in the next four years.
